25 years makes for a very long CV and a great story! I hope the below highlights a toolbag that is full of growth, learning, knowledge and experience that can be used to support you with the growth of your business.
The early years of my career were spent working for Hewlett Packard, which immersed me into the world of technology, ecommerce, and remote working. (During a time when remote working wasn't the norm and Skype hadn't yet been created - so we built jabber instead :-)
Having spent a number of years travelling, working and leading a global team my role at HP evolved into an 11 year journey.I was hired as a project manager out of Uni and left the business as the lead for the consumer printing business.
My little girl Alice was born during the last year of my time at HP and I decided I wanted to take time off. Much to my surprise and in the end delight! I found myself at Marks & Spencers, by invite, as a lead for, what was at the time, the largest Multi Channel Programme in the UK. M&S was a completely new challenge and threw me out of my comfort zone. I no longer had the relationships I had built at HP during my 11 year tenure and I was now faced with leading a 300 person team and delivering the first release of the programme. 2 years later after delivering the release to time and budget, I chose to decline a role within the permanent side of the business. The entrepreneurial spark that lived inside of the young girl who sold handmade bracelets from her school desk, suddenly came alive.
And so I joined a fast growth start up, which we now know and love as Skype. I joined the company with the responsibility to build a brand new community for their B2B business. Community was an unknown at the time, but as somebody who absolutely loves people and values the essence of great relationships, this was where I fell in love with the power of community. Within 18 months we grew the community to 2 million active users, a global advocate programme and saved the business millions of $$'s.
Following Skype, I then decided that the time had arrived to build something of my own. During the next 10 years I founded a product company, which saw investments in technology, built a new platform to support the business and the grew a community which was the heart of the business, reaching 6 million people a week. In 2014 I also appeared on Dragons Den, my "small" business suddenly had investors. Something the C-Suite at M&S and Skype had prepped me for.
When I reflect back on this particular journey, this was where my love for Start Up, Growth Marketing, Brand came from. It also deepened the belief that community is the key to a sustainable business.
Community enabled me to:
* Connect to the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world
* Raise tens of thousands of pounds for charities such as Right to play
* Establish a continuous feedback cycle to enable us to listen to our customers
* Build a magnetic brand
* Grow a brilliant team
* Deepen the relationships with our customers.
* Measure the success and impact of our business.

The world of consultancy:
In 2017 I decided that despite the amazing ride a start up brings, I wanted to share what I had learnt and accumulated. Sleepless nights, cash flow crisis, knowledge, mistakes, successes aren't useful stored in a dusty toolbag. And so I felt the nudge to lean back into consultancy. By invite, I found myself at Pega, lead a brilliant team and delivered a multi million £ project for the Motor Insurance Bureau. It was a great way to update everything I had learnt and in many ways it reconnected me with my roots. However roots also have wings, and those wings flourished when I stepped back into Marketing and created my marketing consultancy company Boost.
During the past 7 years I have had the joy of building new communities, coached 1000's of female business owners. I have worked for 100's of businesses as a fractional CMO across the B2B and B2C space:
* Launched new brands, reinvented others.
* Delivered campaigns across the B2B and B2C space
* Built community
* Created and delivered growth strategies
* Stepped in as a part time CEO to bring a business back into profitability
* Managed and grown global teams
* Developed & implemented strategies that work across all touchpoints in the business
I have raised over £22 Million in funding, from kick starter campaigns, local community events and VC backed businesses - all with one core purpose, to help and support those with a passionate mission to thrive in their chosen markets.
Moving Forward:
Business and Marketing are 2 areas I am incredibly passionate about. In addition I am also very passionate about people and have spent the past 10 years studying emotional intelligence, psychology and human design. Marketing powers people. People buy from people, every single time, what you stand for, what you represent, how you show up, matters more so now than ever. Business growth relies heavily not only on it's internal teams, its technology, what the data tells us, but also on understanding the ever changing landscape that surrounds its customers and in most cases this lies in behaviour.
I can share my 25 year story, the experience I have been so lucky to accumulate, but it's the amazing people I have met along the way who have inspired me. Who we "be" in the world is so important.
Every now and then an opportunity pops up which I feel excited about. I hope you will review my story and consider if it has a place at CrowdFunder.
Thanks

I have been "entre-pre-neuring" since I was 8 years old - truly! I sold my first ever handmade friendship bracelets from my school desk, the one with the pop up lids - remember those ;)
Fast forward "a number of" years ...
I have launched my products on QVC, faced the dragons on Dragons Den in front of 12 million viewers, have trained 1000's of Independent business owners around the world, built the most amazing communities and am an avid human / business cheerleader.
Given how much I love love business, the global product brand I built is still one of the achievements I am most proud of to this day.
